The quiet landscape consistently scanned by a sweeping lighthouse beam throughout the night will create a deeply unsettling backdrop for our genre-bending thriller. Making use of wide, steady shots we will carry our audience every step of the way with Faye. Our compositions purposely withhold information, framing her on the short side of the screen in non-traditional ways to create a sense of disorientation and confusion.

Our camera will also create a sense of voyeurism as we watch Faye, often from the house’s perspective... Giving it a character of its own and building the possibility of an occupying spirit. As the film progresses our camera movement will begin to follow Faye’s actions exactly, she turns, we pan, she kneels down, we tilt... Every subtle motion will entwine Faye and the viewer, all in service of putting her under a microscope.

Taking cues from films "Hereditary" and "Parasite" as well as television series "The Servant" and "Homecoming," Block Island will be elegantly photographed but with a dark twisted core.
